4. Bugatti Chiron (£1.7M)
It was said that the biggest problem with the Bugatti Veyron was the way in which even these geniuses would never be able to top their efforts. But they did, in the form of the $2.5 million Chiron. This completely outrageous piece of engineering was created for the sole purpose of laughing in the faces of anyone who said that the Veyron was the one-off Concorde of cars, never to be repeated or bettered.
Fitted with an 8-litre W16 engine with a generous 4 turbochargers, there’s no less than 1,500BHP to play with. This means 2.5 seconds will get you from zero to 60mph, though its top speed has been limited to just 261 mph. Which means it’s far from the world’s fastest car – that title goes to the Hennessey Venom GT – but some would argue there’s more to life that speed alone.
Were they wrong?
