7. Kim Basinger’s Town - $20 Million
Property sales are all well and good, but if you really want to go crazy with the investments, why not pick up an entire town? That’s what Kim Basinger did, having made the decision to buy the town of Braselton in Georgia as a fixer-upper. Unfortunately, her plans to do the place up and make it into a massive local attraction simply didn’t work. In fact, it all went so wrong that she ended up both selling the town on for just $1 million and declaring herself bankrupt. Still, at least the intentions were noble with this one!
