1 – Lottery Loss
Last but not least, 2010 saw one couple from the UK make the kind of mistake that’s worse than any nightmare you’d ever dare imagine. Having no clue that they’d actually matched all winning numbers, the husband of the duo threw out a winning Euro Millions Lottery ticket. This in turn meant that the pair were unable to claim a massive $181 million and instead were left without a penny. On the plus side, the unclaimed fortune was at least shared out between a bunch of charities and good causes, which is nice!
